Ring “Neighbors” Partnership
The Glassboro Police Department is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Ring “Neighbors” community to better connect with our residents and offer another way to inform each other of activity occurring in our neighborhoods.
Ring provides a free app called “Neighborhood”, which can be found on both iOs and Android stores. This app allows users – even if they do not have a Ring security system – to communicate with other residents, report incidents, and get real-time alerts put out by community members and our agency, all within an interactive map of our Borough. Those that do have Ring cameras are offered the added ability to upload and/or report incidents privately and directly to our department.
As with our camera registration program, this partnership does NOT provide our agency with direct access to your home surveillance system, and does not allow us to know which residents even have them! While we can view any footage publicly shared within the app, the only time our agency would be directly provided with the footage and identity of a user would be if it is voluntarily provided by the user.
